Sustainable and innovative solutions

Seacliff Energy Corp. (“Seacliff”) is a state-of-the-art organics recycling and bioenergy facility in Leamington, Ontario operating since 2011. Seacliff was the first commercial scale anaerobic digester in Canada specifically designed to handle a diverse range of organic materials, with a flexible design able to recycle municipal source separated organics and food waste with most types of packaging. Seacliff is permitted to process 110,000 metric tonnes per year of source separated organics, industrial, commercial, and institutional waste streams, and liquid waste under its Environmental Compliance Approval.
Providing waste diversion and sustainable long-term organics recycling solutions is the core mission of Seacliff. Helping municipalities and companies keep their organics from overburdened landfills is Seacliff’s goal. Capturing the value of the organics through anaerobic digestion reduces greenhouse gas emissions, improves waste diversion rates, and returns valuable nutrients from residential food waste to farm fields for crop production.

TESTIMONIALS
Why Choose Seacliff Energy?
Seacliff Energy Corp.'s anaerobic digestion process is the leading environmentally beneficial choice for organic waste disposal solutions. This technology has become the preferred method for municipalities, cities, and governments across North America.
What is Biogas?
Biogas is produced when organic matter, such as food scraps and animal waste, breaks down in an anaerobic environment. It primarily consists of methane and carbon dioxide. Due to its high methane content, biogas is flammable and can be harnessed as a powerful energy source.

OUR BENEFITS
What is Anaerobic Digestion?

Anaerobic digestion involves a series of biological processes where microorganisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen. One of the key end products is biogas, which can be combusted to generate electricity and heat or processed into renewable natural gas and transportation fuels. This natural waste-to-energy process uses fermentation to break down organic matter such as food scraps and food processing waste, producing a high-methane-content biogas that is flammable and serves as an efficient energy source.

SEACLIFF GREEN
Organic Liquid Fertilizer

A by-product of anaerobic digestion is "digestate," an organic, pathogen-free nutrient renewable fertilizer certified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Our Seacliff Green Organic Fertilizer meets the nutrient requirements for approximately 3,000 acres of corn, replacing fossil fuel-derived commercial fertilizers.
